Candle Burning Safety

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Keep burning candles away from children and pets.

Candle should be placed on a flat, level, fireproof surface and away from anything that can catch fire such as drapes, etc.

Candles should not be burned in an area where there is a draft, such as from an open window, open door, or vent. Drafts will cause the candle to soot, smoke and/or burn unevenly.

Candle should not be burned for more than 3 hours at a time. Before each burn, the wick should be trimmed to a minimum of 1/4".

Candle should not be burned when there is only 1/2" of wax remaining. The remaining wax can be scooped out and discarded and the container can be washed and recycled for another purpose.

Keep wax pool free of wick trimmings or other foreign matter that might present a fire hazard.

If wick moves off center, extinguish the flame and use a butter knife or other non-flammable object to push it back to the center. Then re-light the candle.

Candle container may become hot, handle with care.

Scented candles of any kind of material, including soy, can produce smoke and soot, but proper burning techniques, as outlined above, will help eliminate this.

Although candles may smell good enough to eat, they are not edible.
